1988 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 8V Turbo – Rosso Monza

An exceptional, comprehensively restored example of one of the most iconic performance cars of the 1980s: the Lancia Delta HF Integrale 8V Turbo – the original Integrale, and regarded by many enthusiasts as the purest iteration of the model.

First registered in April 1988, this early Integrale is finished in striking Rosso Monza over the characteristic grey suede and ‘rainbow’ patterned cloth interior. Between 2019 and 2024, the car underwent an extensive, no-expense-spared restoration by a Lancia specialist, with more than €50,000 invested in bringing it to the superb condition in which it presents today.

A comprehensive restoration dossier accompanies the car, including detailed invoices totalling over €50,000 and an extensive photographic record documenting the work undertaken. The complete dossier is available to interested parties on request.

History:

The Delta HF Integrale needs little introduction. Developed from Lancia’s extraordinarily successful Group A rally programme, the Integrale became one of the defining performance cars of its generation.

Lancia went on to secure an unprecedented six consecutive World Rally Championship Constructors’ titles between 1987 and 1992, cementing the Delta’s place in motorsport history.

This particular car was first registered in April 1988 before being imported into the Netherlands in April 1995. It remained there for more than 30 years, until 2026, and is now offered from our premises in France.

Restoration & Mechanical Condition:

Between 2019 and 2024, the car underwent a major restoration carried out by a Lancia specialist. The work was exceptionally comprehensive and included a complete rebuild of the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, overhaul of the turbocharger and refurbishment of the five-speed gearbox, together with extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration throughout.

Such was the extent of the work that we estimate approximately 80% of the car’s components were renewed, rebuilt or improved during the restoration. The result is an Integrale that is about as close as one could realistically hope to find today to a showroom-condition example.

Documented expenditure on the restoration totals in excess of €50,000.

The timing belt was replaced in 2023 as part of the complete engine rebuild, approximately 1,000 km ago. Further recorded maintenance in the form of a post-rebuild running in service was carried out by Autobedrijf Budel in Utrecht in May 2024 at an indicated 155,600 km.

In preparation for sale, we have carried out a further full service and comprehensive multi-point inspection. The car is now fully prepared and ready to be driven and enjoyed as intended.

Specification & Equipment:

Power comes from the rebuilt turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four, driving all four wheels through its five-speed manual transmission and permanent four-wheel-drive system.

The Rosso Monza bodywork is complemented by a beautifully presented grey suede and distinctive ‘rainbow’ cloth-trimmed interior, complete with HF Integrale-branded front floor mats.

The car sits on its original, professionally refurbished 15-inch Speedline ‘Teledial’ alloy wheels, finished in gloss dark grey with machined outer lips and fitted with new Vredestein Ultrac tyres.

Factory equipment includes a sunroof, electric front windows, heated rear screen, rear screen wiper, Veglia Borletti instrumentation and three-spoke leather sports steering wheel.

Summary:

Early eight-valve Integrales are becoming increasingly difficult to find in genuinely exceptional condition, and this example stands apart thanks to the extraordinary level of investment made during its recent restoration.

With more than €50,000 of documented restoration expenditure, a rebuilt engine, overhauled turbocharger, refurbished gearbox and an extensive photographic and invoice dossier, this is a particularly compelling example of the original HF Integrale.

Combining genuine motorsport pedigree with one of the most recognisable shapes of the 1980s, the Delta Integrale remains one of the great homologation-era performance cars.
