Overview
Retro Classic is pleased to offer for sale this magnificent 1967 Lancia Fulvia 1200 Series 1 in an original configuration that suits it perfectly, with its Lancia Blue colour and Saddle Tan interior.
Winner of the Monte Carlo Rally in ‘72, this little Italian car made a name for itself in the world of motor racing.
Light and agile, this car is equipped with an atypical engine, a 45° V-shaped 4-cylinder engine whose sound is instantly recognisable, coupled with a front-wheel drive system that gives it great stability and precise positioning in bends.
The model we are presenting is of Italian origin, a first series with a 1200cm3 engine and 4-speed gearbox, the most desirable version and the most sought-after by collectors. It is important to note that the Series 1 Fulvias were produced by Lancia before the takeover (and subsequent cost-cutting measures) by Fiat in the early 1970s and, as a result, the build quality and materials used are of the highest standard.
The vehicle underwent a total body-off restoration a few years ago, and every detail has been carefully attended to.
MECHANICAL CONDITION
Mechanically the car is in superb health, the engine has also undergone a complete overhaul, it starts without noise or smoke and has full power. The engine revs up smoothly and the tuning is satisfactory.
We carried out a service for the sale, including an engine oil change and replacement of the oil filter, spark plugs, air filter and carburettors.
The chassis behaves very well (an entire new front subframe was fitted during the recent restoration , the steering is precise, the suspension efficient and the braking balanced.
The running gear had been completely refurbished after an epoxy treatment. All the seals, silent blocks and bearings have been replaced, as have the braking and suspension systems.
The original cream-coloured wheels have been kept and are in perfect condition. They are fitted with Good Year tyres which are also in very good condition.
BODYWORK & INTERIOR
The paintwork is beautiful and has a perfect sheen, and the panel alignment is excellent - fresh from a concours standard nut & bolt restoration
The chrome is in fine condition as are all of the rubber seals and trims
The interior has also seen a full refurbishment to 'as new' condition, the upholstery has been replaced with the correct factory specification items, the roof lining has been repaced and is in perfect condition and the dashboard is not cracked. All carpets and rubber liners have been replaced with factory correct items.
The woodwork, in particular the dashboard and steering wheel, has been professionally restored and it is important to note that on the Series 1, these elements are solid mahogany, not inferior imitation wood as on later Fulvias, and all the Veglia instrumentation (even the clock) works well.
This beautiful and rare Fulvia Series 1 comes with its original owner's manual, 2 sets of original keys (even the leather key fob from the Lancia dealership in Naples is present!) We also have the original leather-bound Italian registration book dating back to when the car was new.
