Few classic Mercedes-Benz models combine timeless elegance, exceptional build quality and effortless grand touring quite like the celebrated R107 SL.

We are delighted to offer this beautifully presented 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL, finished in its original factory colour of Anthracite Grey Metallic (172), complemented by an elegant grey interior and brand-new black convertible hood.

Originally supplied to the American market, this example spent much of its life in the dry Californian climate, which has helped preserve its bodywork and underside exceptionally well. The car is completely rust-free, a particularly important consideration when purchasing an R107.

Imported into France in 2019 and in the hands of its current owner since 2023, the Mercedes has benefited from considerable care and investment over the years.

The exterior has been fully repainted in its original factory colour and presents beautifully, with excellent chrome detailing and classic Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels. A brand-new black folding convertible hood has recently been fitted, while the car also retains its original factory hardtop, complete with dedicated storage stand.

The elegant grey interior has been extensively refurbished and presents in superb condition, with beautifully finished seats, matching door panels, carpets and attractive wood trim.

Factory equipment includes electric windows, cruise control and air conditioning. Importantly, the air-conditioning system has been completely overhauled and converted to modern R134a refrigerant, and now functions perfectly.

Powered by Mercedes-Benz's smooth and refined 3.8-litre V8 engine, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission, the 380 SL delivers the relaxed and effortless driving experience for which these classic roadsters are renowned.

The car is accompanied by an extensive history file containing American and French maintenance invoices, documenting significant mechanical servicing and refurbishment over the years. This includes work carried out by respected Mercedes-Benz specialist Paris Pagode, together with more recent maintenance covering the automatic transmission, cooling system and other mechanical components.

Of particular note is an independent automotive expertise report dated March 2023, during which the car was inspected both on the ground and on a workshop lift. The expert confirmed the good condition of the body structure, underside and principal mechanical components, assigning the vehicle an assessed value of €29,900 at that time.

The car has covered relatively few miles since that inspection and has benefited from further investment and improvements.
